REGION 16 CLINIC With Jody Strand http://strandarabians.com/index.htm and Chad Judy http://www.empressarabians.com/training.asp Jody Strand – Western/ Hunter Pleasure Chad Judy – English Pleasure Hunter Pleasure Jody Strand Jody grew up on the Arabian Horse Farm he now owns. He has been around Arabian horses all of his life and has learned from some of the best horse trainers there are, including his father. Training a horse starts when they are young and continues through their whole life. Jody understands horses and how they think. Performance training begins around the age of three, some earlier and some later, depending mostly on the mental maturity of the horse. Performance training usually begins with ground work and line driving. Jody trains horses in many disciplines, but is mostly known as a trainer of National Champion Western Pleasure horses. He is also very skilled in the areas of Hunter Pleasure, English Pleasure, and Driving. Jody holds his Level I Judge's Card, which is the highest level of judging one can receive in the Arabian industry. He has been nominated twice for Male Western Trainer of the Year, and has been listed five times in the Arabian Industries "Totally Tops." Congratulations! Jody Strand has again been nominated as one of APAHA's Male Western Trainers of the Year! Jody has been nominated six times for this prestigious award, and was named the 2005 Male Western Trainer of the Year! Susan Burchard-Murray has also been nominated for the second time as one of APAHA's Amateur Western Riders of the Year! All AHA members are entitled to vote online at www.HorsemansAwards.com beginning January 1st, 2007. The awards will be presented on Sunday, February 25th, 2007 in Scottsdale, AZ. Congratulations! Chad Judy At the 2002 Professional Horseman's Awards, held In Scottsdale, AZ, February 2003, Chad Judy was presented with the 2002 English trainer of the Year award. Chad had worked "long and hard" riding and training horses to achieve this award and the Industry made it quite dear that they felt it was "Well Deserved!" Chad joined Empress Arabians in December 1995 and their training program has grown significantly since this talented trainer joined the organization. Chad is versatile in a variety of disciplines, whether it be English Pleasure, Driving, or Hunter and he offers this expertise in both training and showing at National levels. Each clinic will run for approximately one hour. Please be ready to begin at your designated time. You may call after March 8 for your clinic time. All clinic times will be on a first come first serve basis and every effort will be made to ensure everyone will have a spot and clinician of choice. HOWEVER Reservations must be RECEIVED no later than March 5. Reservations received after March 5 will be subject to time slot availability.
